GLSEN wants you to Think Before You Speak

22 Mar

Let’s call today the unofficial International Day for the Elimination of Sexuality Discrimination! (See yesterday’s post for context.)

GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), a national educational organization “working to ensure schools are safe and respectful for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression,” has launched a new opportunity as part of its “Think Before You Speak” campaign, which educates teens about the prevalence and consequences of anti-LGBT bias and behavior in US schools.

GLSEN and the Ad Council are calling for artists “to submit a public service announcement that reflects and encourages the theme of ‘Think Before You Speak.'” For more info, please check out:

And please pass this along, to the folks you think of as “artists,” as well as to those you don’t. Because you never know who may have something to say about making schools safe for all kids.
