Excuse me, Ms Bachmann?

Here it is, your Moment of Social Justice (a play on The Daily Show with John Stewart‘s “Moment of Zen”). Please click and watch:

If you didn’t catch it, the little boy whispers to Republican presidential hopeful and opponent of same-sex marriage Michele Bachmann, “My mommy’s gay, but she doesn’t need fixing.”

Way to go, Elijah and his mommies.

And for more on youth holding our political representatives (again Bachmann, in this case) accountable for equity and inclusion, check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RenwNhL1Te0&feature=player_embedded.

This clip includes a great exchange between Bachmann, who contends that gay couples have the same rights as heterosexual couples (because everyone has the right to marry someone of the opposite sex!), and a high school student, who argues that that’s not equal rights: that’s heterosexual privilege.

Thanks to these kids for their simple and inspiring activism.
